What is a mentor?
A mentor is a person or a friend who guides a less experienced person by building trust and modeling positive behaviors.  An effective mentor understands that his or her role is to be dependable, engaging, authentic, and tuned into the needs of the mentee.

A few simple ways to assist may be by:

  • a phone conversation once a month
  • being a resource for industry questions
  • providing guidance and motivation  
  • developing contacts and identifying resources
  • shadowing you at work


We ask that our "experienced professionals" in the energy industry to consider becoming a mentor.
